Selong Belanak

Selong Belanak is a wide, crescent-shaped bay on Lombok's southern coast — consistently ranked among the most beautiful beaches in Indonesia. The sand is white and fine, the water is clear and warm, and the surf is consistent but gentle enough for beginners.

Unlike Kuta (Lombok) and the busier spots further east, Selong Belanak remains quiet. There are a handful of warungs, a few surf schools, and very little else — which is exactly the point.

Getting there

Selong Belanak is approximately 30 minutes from Lombok International Airport by car. The road winds through rice fields and small villages — the journey itself is part of the experience.

Best time to visit

The dry season runs from May to October. Surf is most consistent between June and August. The rainy season (November to April) brings greener landscapes and fewer visitors.
